Those who have a heart for art will not want to miss DEL CORAZON, the fifth annual Mexican performing arts festival that kicks off 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday with the one-man comedy show, “Six Mexicans Named Gonzalez.” A huge hit on the Austin, Texas, college circuit, Adrian Villegas’ production explores the Mexican-American experience through characters ranging from a 19-year-old vato (homeboy) to a 65-year-old World War II veteran. Other upcoming Del Corazon events include “Quinceanera” (above), a coming-of-age story about the lives of three gay men 15 years into the AIDS pandemic (7 p.m. April 24 and 25), and Los Folkloristas, a world-renowned folk ensemble performing the Afromestizo music of Mexico at Medinah Temple (7 p.m. May 1). Ticket prices range from $10 to $15 for all events except “Los Folkloristas”; tickets for that show are $14 to $18. Other performances will be held at the Mexican Fine Arts Center Museum, 1852 W. 19th St., Chicago. Del CorazOn events run through May 29. Call 312-738-1503 for more information.
