The title is “Cavedweller,” so one might expect a public TV yawnfest about club-wielding Neanderthals, a ’60s B-movie comedy with groovy dance steps or maybe the life story of a journalist. As it turns out, author Dorothy Allison’s latest novel is none of those things, though it does trace the travails of Delia Byrd, a burned-out rocker seeking redemption for herself and her three daughters. Allison, author of “Bastard Out of Carolina,” will read from and discuss her new book at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Harold Washington Library Center auditorium, 400 S. State St. (If you go, use the building’s Plymouth Court entrance.) The reading is sponsored by the library, by Women and Children First bookstore and by Barbara’s Bookstore. Call 312-747-4050.
