BBC RADIO PRESENTS `MAN AND SUPERMAN’

By George Bernard Shaw, Bantam Doubleday Dell Audio Publishers, 225 minutes, $22. Read by Ralph Fiennes, Juliet Stevenson, et al.

Fifty years after it was the first drama to be broadcast on BBC’s “Third Programme,” Shaw’s 1903 Nietzschean tragicomedy returned to the British radio waves in this fine 1996 production, featuring actors Ralph Fiennes and Juliet Stevenson, who adroitly handle the challenging dream sequence of “Don Juan in Hell.”
