The purchase of a 60,000-square-foot parcel is enabling Tri-Land Properties to begin the second phase of development at Oak Creek Shopping Center at 159th Street and Central Avenue.

The City Council agreed to sell the property for $50,000. Tri-Land will tear down a tavern on the property, then it will develop 100,000 square feet of commercial business space.

Major tenants are being sought, said Hugh Robinson, Tri-Land vice president.

The council also negotiated with Tri-Land a $200,000 sale price with a two-year purchase option for a 100,000-square-foot piece of property on the east end of the shopping center. It stretches from 159th Street to the northern boundary of the shopping center.
