Police Tuesday were continuing their investigation of an accident in which a 49-year-old Frankfort man died when his car was hit by a vehicle whose driver allegedly had run a stoplight in Lemont Township at Illinois Highway 83 and Archer Avenue.

William Chorvat, of the 400 block of Butternut Trail in Frankfort, was pronounced dead at 2:04 p.m. Monday in Palos Community Hospital in Palos Heights, according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

Kathleen Fischer, 44, of 13241 Farm View St., Lockport, was charged with disobeying a traffic control, said Penny Mateck, a Cook County Sheriff’s Department spokeswoman. Fischer was not injured in the accident, police said.
