Land originally intended for offices has taken a residential turn in Buffalo Grove.

Northfield-based Focus Development was successful in a request to rezone former office property at 840 Weidnere Rd. for a multifamily residential project called Delacourte Condominiums.

When completed, Delacourte will include four mid-rise buildings with 136 residences ranging in price from $156,500 to $286,900 and in size from 1,211 to 2,319 square feet.

The two- and three-bedroom units are offered in eight floor plans. Custom options are available.

“The 8 1/2-foot ceilings will allow for lots of windows and create an airy sense of openness,” said Tim Anderson, president of Focus Development.

One of the elevator buildings is under construction and is scheduled for completion in July, according to Anderson.

Reminiscent of Prairie-style architecture, the buildings will feature a horizontal look, but they will be constructed of traditional materials–brick with stone detailing.

Standard amenities include fireplaces, private balconies, in-unit laundry rooms and skylights on the top floor.

A heated underground garage offers one parking space per unit.

The landscaping will include green space around the buildings, a pond and a gazebo. The buildings will be oriented around the pond.

Delacourte is north of Dundee Road and just east of Arlington Heights Road. Shopping, recreational facilities and business parks are nearby. A sales center is open on-site, and a model is scheduled to open in June.
