After two years on the job, Jerry Hawver, assistant superintendent for Park Ridge-Niles District 64, is resigning his post overseeing curriculum and instruction to pursue a career in higher education.
Hawver, who helped shepherd such broad initiatives as the district’s coming change to a middle school model and various curriculum revisions, will step down June 30.
His replacement will be Roosevelt Elementary Principal Sally Pryor, an educator for 25 years.
Hawver has yet to take a new job, although he has been interviewing for teaching posts.
