Parents who fear ineffective cleaning is contributing to pupil illnesses requested the comparison last month.
Since attendance rates are normal, “we’re not necessarily looking at what we’re cleaning, but how we’re cleaning,” Reardon said, promising to schedule a training session on cleaning techniques for school custodians over the spring break.
But parents say the problem is the need for disinfecting as well as cleaning. “My kid had strep throat twice in three weeks,” said Pam Tsatsis, who presented the school board with a list of cleaning suggestions.
