Jim Pilmer got a boost from some of his own this week when many of Pilmer’s Aurora Township Republican colleagues endorsed his candidacy for the 42nd District legislative seat being vacated by retiring Illinois Rep. Suzanne Deuchler.
Pilmer, 38, a trustee for both the township and Waubonsee Community College, received endorsements from township Clerk John “Whitey” Peters, Assessor Davis Offutt and Trustee Tom Meyers as well as Aurora Alds. Chuck Nelson and Bob O’Connor.
“Jim is a man of unquestioned integrity,” the group said in a statement released this week. “He is an intelligent and insightful person. He also has the ability to bring differing views together and present interesting ways to solve problems.”
The others Republican candidates are Geneva Township Supervisor Patrick Jaeger, Batavia Ald. Tim Schmitz and Ravi Singh of Aurora, a former aide to Lt. Gov. Bob Kustra and Illinois Treasurer Judy Barr Topinka. Aurora attorney Juan Thomas is running unopposed for the Democratic nomination.
