Hastert will have an opponent on the Nov. 3 general election ballot, however. Robert A. Cozzi Jr. of St. Charles is running unopposed for the Democratic nomination in the March 17 primary.
The 14th District stretches from the western fringe of DuPage County, through all of Kane, Kendall, DeKalb and Lee Counties and into a portion of LaSalle County.
