“I think I do this more than anything else . . . I change all the pillows, reupholster one or two pieces, maybe embellish or rework the draperies. I use colors that are hot right now. There’s a return to lots of earth tonesto sage green, cinnamons, burnt siennasas opposed to oranges, and a return to neutrals with metallics in them.”

Professional member of the American Society of Interior Designers from 1990. Halo/Metalux National Lighting Competition Winner, 1994.
Look: “Eclectic. I don’t clutter … and I’m definitely not afraid of colors.”
Favorite project: Her dream project was a custom-built home near Lisle that was completely empty. “There was a budget that was workable and attainable and provided for beautiful things within certain overall guidelines.” She’d love to do a repeat.
Pet peeve: When people don’t understand the wait for handmade furnishings. “When you’re getting top-quality furniture, you’re getting hand-rubbed finishes. The ones who require that kind of quality (ultimately) become educated about the wait.”
Area served: Mostly DuPage County.
Charges: Based on an hourly fee of $60 to $75, depending on the location. “I do give them a maximum on the project,” she says.
