Colleen Julian, a certified public accountant, begins her job as Oak Forest’s controller Monday after the City Council this week approved her appointment by a 5-2 vote.

Mayor Patrick Gordon selected Julian, an Oak Forest native, saying she had the qualifications for the job. Julian replaces Linda Eason, who has handled the job the past two years. Eason is not an accountant.

“I could not say enough about Linda’s work attitude,” he said, adding that replacing her “is not easy, it’s not personal and it’s not political.”

He said Julian stood out from several candidates. She is leaving a job at Panduit Corp. to work for the city.

Gordon said this was a good time for Julian to begin her duties because work is beginning on the fiscal 1999 budget.
