When the popular game show “Hollywood Squares” returns to television in September, Whoopi Goldberg will be in the center square. Goldberg, who’s co-producing the show with King World and Columbia TriStar, was at the National Association of Television Program Executives here, talking about her new role Wednesday.
She plans to keep all that was warm and friendly from the original show but increase the laugh quotient by tapping former Chicagoan Bruce Vilanch as the show’s head writer. “We want it to be a party that is slightly politically incorrect,” Goldberg said.
