Trustees have authorized nearly $300,000 for projects intended to control flooding and to allow further development of the village’s industrial park.
Trustees Tuesday approved an $85,680 bid from the Dominic Fiodirosa Construction Co. to install pipe in the portion of Plum Creek running in a ditch through the industrial park north of Steger Road.
Village President Lou Sherman said enclosing the creek will enable Steger to develop 4 acres in the industrial park. Fiodirosa also will establish an inlet on 32nd Street, at an estimated cost of $27,853.
Silvestri Paving Co. won the right to construct a detention basin with a bid of $184,853. The detention basin is part of a project to control storm water runoff on the village’s northwest side.
