ANGELICA

Angelica (Arista/Latin) (star)

This is pretty pop from Arista/Latin’s latest attempt at creating a Mexican-American Gloria Estefan. Angelica has a voice, and she’s certainly pretty enough. But the songs on her debut CD are so generic, it’s hard to find the single, never mind remember any of the other titles. Yes, they’re danceable, and the ballads are smooth, and there are even a few Spanish covers of English-language hits, but the overall impression is fairly innocuous.
