Creators of “The X-Files” encourage viewers to trust no one, but Fox execs surprised the media Saturday by announcing a 10-city “interactive road show”–minus details such as who would participate in the themed multimedia events and where exactly they would take place.

Unlike most fan conventions, the X-Files Expo tour, which includes a Chicago stop April 17-19, will be housed in “high-security, high-tech” venues designed to immerse followers in the series’ creepy mood. Tickets are $25.

Fox Entertainment president Peter Roth told reporters the TV show would return for at least two more seasons. Other news:

– Roth indicated Fox would attempt to steal “E.R.” from NBC when the series’ contract with the No. 1 network expires in May.

– Damon Wayons and David Alan Grier will reteam in “Damon,” a half-hour comedy series set in Chicago. Wayons is a cop, Grier, his unambitious rent-a-cop brother.
