Panoramic views of Chicago’s skyline from bay windows and bay balconies will be featured at Park Pointe, a new condominium building planned for 520 N. Halsted St.

Construction of the 12-story structure is to begin in the spring, with completion a year later, according to Michael Peterson, president of Diversified Real Estate Concepts Inc., the developer.

The brick-and-stone mid-rise was designed by the Chicago-based architectural firm of Fujikawa, Johnson and Associates.

Prices for the 126 units on the upper nine floors range from $119,900 to $288,900. The one-, two- and three-bedroom residences offer from 877 to 1,812 square feet of living area.

The floor plans include nine-foot ceilings, great rooms, living/dining room combinations and kitchens with breakfast bars.

Other features are gas fireplaces, washer/dryer hookups, maple floors in entryway and kitchen, private storage lockers on each floor, telephone-entry intercom system, bicycle storage and three elevators.

Parking for 179 cars will be on the lower three levels. Convenience stores and a fitness center also are planned.

The Habitat Co. will market the property.

Two models and a sales center are now open at the site, which is bounded by Halsted and Ohio Streets and Milwaukee Avenue. The location offers convenient access to the Kennedy Expressway. The Como Inn, a landmark restaurant, is a block away.
