Luke scored eight of his 12 points in the fourth quarter and hit a bank shot with 40 seconds left to give Waubonsie (11-2, 4-1) a 68-66 lead in the Upstate Eight. Billy Block (16 points) added two free throws with 16.8 seconds left. Thirty-one points by Tarius Dawkins and a three-pointer by Tarale Evans with 3.9 seconds to go still left East Aurora (8-6, 3-2) short.
York 67, Glenbard West 52: Host York (6-8, 1-3) outscored its West Suburban Silver opponent 22-14 in the second quarter and 21-13 in the fourth. Dave Schmidt led the Dukes with 25 points and Mark Thomas, who ran for the school’s state runner-up cross-country team, added eight points and 16 rebounds. Desmond Heard had 22 points for Glenbard (8-3, 2-1).
Westmont 63, Elmwood Park 61: Freshman Pierre Paris scored 34 points–12 above his average–to help Westmont (4-11, 1-3) pull out the Suburban Prairie Blue victory. He also had six rebounds, four steals and eight assists. Evergreen Park is 1-10, 1-3.
Batavia 66, Fenton 53: Brad Foster (18 points) fueled Batavia (5-8, 2-2) in the Suburban Prairie Red. Syed Zaidi’s 17 led Fenton (5-11, 0-4).
Bolingbrook 56, Romeoville 48: Derrick Franklin’s 13 points helped Bolingbrook, which outscored Romeoville 22-9 in the fourth quarter, win in the SICA North. Jason Whalum had 13 points for Romeoville (1-11, 0-3).
Oswego 73, Glenbard South 51: Chris Silagi scored 31 points and Dusty Stroops added 15 to lead Oswego (10-2, 4-0) in the Suburban Prairie Red. Kevin O’Rourke’s 13 paced Glenbard South (9-3, 3-1).
Riverside-Brookfield 49, Evergreen Park 37: Randy Ramsey’s 13 points helped R-B (11-2, 4-0) stay perfect in the Suburban Prairie Blue. Evergreen Park fell to 2-2 in the league.
Nazareth 70, Timothy Christian 55: Nazareth (8-6, 5-1) won in the Private School League behind Travon Davis’ 20 points.
Reed-Custer 57, Lisle 55: Brandon Ricketts (11 points) sank two free throws with 4.4 seconds left to give Reed-Custer (6-7, 2-3) the Interstate Eight victory. Lisle is 5-6, 2-3.
St. Francis 48, Marmion 34: Ryan Hogan and Neal Gardner each had 12 points as St. Francis (7-6, 5-0) stayed perfect in the Suburban Catholic.
