Maine East social science teacher Jeffrey D. Parlette has been appointed to one of three dean’s posts at the Park Ridge school, filling a vacancy left by Alice Davitt, who took a job with the District 207 central office.

Parlette, who joined Maine East in the fall of 1994, will begin his new job Jan. 26 at a salary of $75,600. He will handle disciplinary problems for a third of the school’s students and work alongside a guidance counselor assigned to the same set of students.

Maine’s other two high schools–South and West–have smaller student populations and employ two deans apiece.

Davitt, a longtime dean at East, took over as the district’s director of grants last month.
