PUBLIC HEARING SET FOR JAN. 15 TO GET INPUT ON SOLID-WASTE PLAN

A public hearing is scheduled for Jan. 15 to gather public comment about the proposed five-year update to Kane County’s 1992 solid-waste plan.

The County Board’s Solid Waste Committee, which drafted the required updated plan, expects it be considered for County Board approval during the board’s March 10 meeting.

The document is on display at the County Board office, municipal and village locations, and township offices throughout Kane.

The meeting is scheduled for 7 p.m. at the County Government Center, 719 Batavia Ave., in Geneva. Written public comment must be submitted to Environmental Management Director Tim Harbaugh no later than Jan. 31.
