Tom Dineen began his coaching career in 1979 when he was named Buffalo Grove’s interim head coach. Since then he has guided the Buffalo Grove girls basketball team to the state quarterfinals five times, including four in the previous six seasons.

But Dineen’s career record rates as high as his recent postseason success, especially after his milestone victory Tuesday. His 15th-ranked Bison beat visiting Waukegan 63-52 in a non-conference game to give Dineen his 400th career victory–against 134 losses.

“This is a nice milestone for the program,” Dineen said. “I’m really happy (my daughter) Jaime was here to share this with me. I’ve had a lot of good kids, assistants and other people involved with this program, and I think they deserve as much credit as I do.”
