Mundelein’s top cop is about to become chief of chiefs.
On Jan. 19, Mundelein Police Chief Raymond Rose will be installed as president of the Illinois Association of Chiefs of Police, a group of more than 1,200 law-enforcement executives from around the state. He will be the first police chief from Lake County in that post in the group’s 58-year history.
Gurnee Police Chief Robert Jones said he’s pleased that a Lake County police official will have a statewide leadership role in law enforcement.
“Chief Rose is one of those people that will be in the forefront of making sure police interests are protected,” said Jones. “He’s very much a leader.”
