Maybe Jack Maniscalco and Sean Harrington should have had their own three-point shooting contest. They would probably still be firing away.

Maniscalco hit seven three-pointers en route to a 23-point night to lead St. Patrick past No. 13 Fremd 75-68 in double overtime Friday in the semifinals of the Elgin Holiday Tournament. In the second semi, Elgin’s Harrington connected on five of six threes to break the school career record with 125 as the fourth-ranked Maroons rolled past Addison Trail 84-60.

Harrington, who scored 27 points, also became the 10th player in school history to pass the 1,000 point mark in a career.

“After a while, it seems to become natural,” said Elgin coach Jim Harrington, Sean’s father. “If you give him room, he’ll stick it, and if you’re too close, he’ll go around you.”

St. Patrick (8-2), defending champions of the tournament, rallied from an 11-point deficit to defeat Fremd. The victory put St. Patrick in the final for the third straight year. Andrew Bumgardner added 20. Maniscalco scored eight of St. Patrick’s 15 points in the second overtime.
