A sleek, urban look has been created for 70 new townhouses that will be built in the north suburbs.
“Diamond Pointe should appeal especially to people who have lived in the city and then moved to the country,” said Bernard Wiczer, managing partner of Diamond Pointe Development Co.
To be constructed on seven acres in Mundelein, the project will consist of nine three-story buildings with four to six units each.
Designed by architect Voy Madeyski, who did the redesign of the Amoco Building plaza near the Loop, the Chicago-style rowhouses range in size from 2,000 to 2,200 square feet of living area.
Prices start at $169,900 for a one-bedroom unit, $174,900 for two bedrooms and $179,900 for three bedrooms. They have 1 1/2 to 2 1/2 baths.
Six different floor plans are available. A sales trailer is open now, but three decorated models are scheduled for a March grand opening.
The first move-ins will be in June, according to Wiczer.
The land plan will include curved streets, fountains and ponds.
All units will have walkout basements on the lower level, walk-in closets, central air conditioning and attached two-car garages.
Diamond Pointe is located on Allanson Road, a quarter-mile west of Butterfield Road. It is minutes away from Hawthorn Mall and two commuter train stations, one in Mundelein and the other in Vernon Hills.
The townhouse project is in Vernon Hills Elementary School District 73.
