Like his team before him, Joe Bugel didn’t put up a fight. On Monday afternoon, he didn’t mount a defense. Or an offense. He didn’t publicly assert his control of the Raiders. Bugel didn’t seem to be bothered by the image of Tim Brown gathering the offensive players around him and inserting a subversive game plan. He didn’t seem to mind that coach Brown is planning to change plays in the huddle Sunday. Brown’s action is the only sign of a pulse we’ve seen from the team since last month. This rebellion is one more piece of concrete evidence the Raiders are an operation out of control. Not only are the inmates running the asylum, the prevailing attitude of the public is that this is a good thing, given the alternative.
