For those who would like to know how Charliss Ridley fits in with her new teammates at Wheaton-Warrenville South, take a quick glance at the Tigers’ scorebook.

Ridley, a sophomore transfer from Indianapolis, has averaged more than 20 points in her team’s first three games. On Saturday, she scored 10 of her 25 points in a decisive third quarter to guide the seventh-ranked Tigers (3-0) to a 69-44 non-conference rout of No. 9 Hinsdale Central.

“She’s a powerful (player),” Wheaton-Warrenville South coach Jim Allured said. “When she gets the ball inside, she’s either going to get a shot off or she’ll get fouled. I didn’t think there would be too many people who could stop her.”

The 5-foot-11-inch Ridley has complemented returning starters Kristen Miller and Ali Klaas. Miller, who is averaging 16.5 points, scored 18 and Klaas 11 against Hinsdale. The host Tigers led 26-25 at the half and outscored Hinsdale 22-5 in the third quarter to take control.

Laura Barnard led Hinsdale with 15 points.

Waubonsie Valley tournament: No. 1 Loyola (2-0) got 16 points and five rebounds from Laura Sobieszczyk and 14 points from Olga Gvozdenovic in pounding Montini 61-28. Shannon Herold led Montini (1-1) with nine points.

Ashley Luke scored a game-high 18 points and Leslie Davenport added 13 as No. 10 Waubonsie Valley (3-0) defeated Willowbrook 56-45. Waubonsie led 52-24 with 6 minutes 45 seconds to go before Willowbrook (0-1) rallied late.

No. 19 Joliet (2-1) defeated Naperville North 61-50 behind Lori Shelby’s 16 points. Shannon Sweeney paced the Huskies with 12 points. . . . Amanda Wolf scored 15 points and 6-4 sophomore Jackie Shook added 15 and grabbed 11 rebounds as West Aurora routed Providence 68-33. West Aurora (2-0) led 18-17 with 3:54 left in the second quarter and then finished the half on a 14-2 run to lead 32-19. Emily Fuller added 10 for the victors while Colleen Gannon scored 11 for the Celtics (1-1).

Naperville Central/East Aurora tournament: Lola Dada’s 17 points and Sarah Kustok’s 15 led No. 6 Sandburg (3-0) in its 53-41 victory over Proviso West. The Eagles led by four points at the half and outscored Proviso West 22-14 in the fourth quarter. . . . Behind Mary Ellen Schaeffer’s 12 points, Benet (3-0) defeated East Aurora 65-22. . . . Kristi Faulkner scored 31 points to lead Glenbard West (3-0) in a 56-43 victory over Downers Grove North (0-2). Karen Poetzel had 19 for Downers. . . . Laura Dodsworth’s 16 points and 10 rebounds paced Naperville Central (2-0) to a 53-40 victory over Elgin (1-2). The Redhawks took control of the game with a 10-0 run to start the fourth quarter.

Bolingbrook tournament: No. 12 Hillcrest (3-0) won its fourth consecutive championship in the round robin with a 59-30 victory over the host Raiders (0-3). Shavonna Hunter, the tournament’s most valuable player, finished with 35 points and 11 rebounds for Hillcrest.

Rich South tournament: No. 14 Kankakee cruised to a 54-33 victory over Thornton Fractional South. The Kays were paced by Corrie May (14 points). Lauren Satori’s 10 points led T.F. South. . . . Jill Harrigan scored 16 points as Marian Catholic (2-0) held on for a 58-52 victory over Chicago Christian (1-1). . . . Caryn Boer’s 22 points paced Illiana Christian in its 90-35 rout of Crane.

Conant/Wheeling tournament: Sarah Schwarz (16 points), Pam O’Conner (13) and Sarah Mikuls (11) led Fenton (3-1) to a 50-43 victory over Maine East (1-3).

Romeoville tournament: Lockport (3-0) rolled past Argo 57-31 with Trisha Jakel’s 17 points and LaToya Campbell’s 16. Argo slipped to 2-1. . . . Tiffany Crutcher scored 17 points to lead host Romeoville to a 54-13 victory over Lemont.

Lyons Township tournament: Megan Bramlette scored 10 points to lead Homewood-Flossmoor (2-1) to a 38-35 victory over West Chicago (1-1). Leslie Harlson’s 14 points led the Wildcats.
