Officials have welcomed a subdivision into the village despite the fact that four of its homeowners have yet to sign an agreement annexing into the town.
Amid accolades and thanks among staff members and the few Tinley Gardens residents attending a recent meeting, Village Board members approved the annexation of the 85-lot neighborhood.
The area encompasses about 25 acres between 92nd and 94th Avenues south of 183rd Street.
Although the four remaining property owners are expected to sign the agreement, trustees said they will enact a special connection ordinance regarding sewer and water hookups for those lots, should they balk at finalizing the pact.
“We believe they have not had time to get to us (to sign the document),” Village Manager Dave Dorgan said.
