We got a way-early Christmas present: a peek at the new Hanson album, “Snowed In,” which comes out today. You angst-filled, gotta-be-grunge kids, don’t go near this one: It’s strictly for true fans of these upbeat bros.
The album is all Christ-mas, all the time: The 11 songs are devoted to the holiday. But forget tired old jingles; these boys shake things up. They rock on “Merry Christmas Baby” and “Everybody Knows the Claus.” And you have to admire boys who aren’t afraid to belt out a song like “Run Rudolph Run.” But our fave was the lovely “Silent Night Medley,” which brings out the brothers’ talent for harmonizing.
