The Three Bears: The Lake Forest High School varsity football team didn’t make the playoffs, but it did beat rival Stevenson of Lincolnshire. And just for good measure, it put new meaning into the story of “The Three Bears” for coach Tom Myers and his Scouts. After ex-Bear and All-Pro Mike Pyle gave the Lake Forest team a game-day pep talk, the Scouts promptly got clobbered by Antioch 34-6 in their worst performance of the season. Then after ex-Bear and All-Pro Dave Duerson’s game-day pep talk, the Scouts edged Warren Township 24-10. Finally, after ex-Bear and All-Pro Ted Albrecht gave a game-day pep talk, Myers’ players whipped Mundelein 41-12 in one of their best performances of the year.
