Crystal Lake Central: Crystal Lake South defeated crosstown rival Crystal Lake Central 15-12, 9-15, 16-14 to advance to the Waukegan sectional. Rachel Cavanaugh, Jill Campioni and Jamie Simek each had 10 kills to lead the Gators (25-10).
McHenry: McHenry (28-8) topped Antioch 15-13, 7-15, 18-16 to advance to the Waukegan sectional. Anna Brotcke had 12 kills and Holly Sorensen nine to pace the Warriors.
Libertyville: The host Wildcats (27-10) escaped with a 15-13, 13-15, 15-1 victory over Mundelein to advance to the Waukegan sectional. Erin Mahoney had 10 kills for Libertyville and Amy Foley, who had 11 aces, served seven straight points in the final game.
Prospect: Hersey (17-18) prevailed over Prospect 7-15, 15-9, 15-9 for the title behind Laurie Anderson’s 14 kills and Amy Gresens’ 25 assists. Prospect dropped to 23-12.

Hersey: Christian Lonteen scored two goals and Louis Litrenta had two assists as No. 3 Fremd (18-2-3) blanked Palatine (7-14-1) 3-0. Fremd (18-2-3) will get another shot at Hersey in the sectional final after the host Huskies escaped with a 1-0 victory over Rolling Meadows (10-8-3). Hersey (17-4) was led by Mike Hill, who scored his 29th goal and Mike Robertson (10 saves).
Class A soccer sectionals
St. Viator: Todd Glassman scored two goals to pace Deerfield past Carmel 3-1. Deerfield takes on the host school in Saturday’s final.
Marian Central Catholic: Goals by Todd Whetham and Dan O’Malley led Crystal Lake Central to a 2-1 victory over Prairie Ridge (13-6-3).
