Mayor Robert Chiszar announced the institution of two annual $1,000 scholarships for Mokena students, concentrating on the fields of public administration or law enforcement. The two scholarships will be named for former Mayor Ron Grotovsky and former Trustee Gary Chase.
The outing held in August at Green Garden Country Club generated $7,650, and Chiszar presented checks to three village organizations.
