Chicago Christian 32, Peru St. Bede 6: Justin Kane (22 carries, 100 yards) ran for a pair of touchdowns and Tim Voss added a 10-yard score as Chicago Christian (7-1, 3-1 Private School League) qualified for the state playoffs for the first time in school history.
“Our defense came up big, and we’re very excited,” said Knights coach Mike Laneve. “It’s been a season of tremendous effort out of our program.”
Minooka 35, Batavia 19: Ryan Koerner had touchdown runs of 6 and 36 yards and caught touchdown passes of 59 and 79 yards as the Indians (7-1, 4-0) cruised in the Suburban Prairie Red.
“He has elusive speed in the open field, and a knack for avoiding for tackles,” Minooka coach Mike Brisco said of Koerner.
Defensively, John Nurczyk had three of Minooka’s eight sacks while Kevin Caruso had a pair of interceptions.
Oak Forest 42, Thornton Fractional South 19: Dan Lang (22 carries, 165 yards) had touchdown runs of 1, 2, 5 and 24 yards for the Bengals (5-3, 4-2 SICA Orange). T.F. South fell to 4-4, 3-3.
Romeoville 49, Bradley-Bourbonnais 14: In the SICA Gray, Romeoville (4-4, 3-3) rolled past Bradley (2-6, 1-5) behind Ed McDonald, who had TD runs of 20, 42 and 67 yards.
Richards 49, Kankakee 15: Shaun Brown (seven carries, 181 yards, two TDs) had an 82-yard touchdown run on the first play from scrimmage as Richards (7-1, 5-1) routed Kankakee (2-6, 1-5) in the SICA Orange. Milton Mitchell added 114 rushing yards and two TDs on five carries, including a 72-yard touchdown run.
Herscher 28, Yorkville 14: Matt Kapchinske (26 carries, 210 yards) returned a kickoff 89 yards for a touchdown and ran for scores of 1 and 86 yards as Herscher (2-6, 2-2) broke open the Suburban Praiarie Blue contest that was tied at 14-14 at the half.
Eisenhower 32, Argo 26: Tori Stuckey scored three touchdowns, including the game-winner on a 4-yard run, with 3 minutes left to seal the victory for Eisenhower (4-4, 2-4 SICA Orange). Argo was paced by Trey Van Allen, who completed 16 of 26 passes for 230 yards and two TDs.
