HUMAN RESOURCES CHIEF IS TAPPED AS TEMPORARY VILLAGE MANAGER

Chris Guckenberger, head of the Hoffman Estates Human Resources Department, has been appointed acting village manager.

Guckenberger has headed the resources department since 1993. She is replacing village manager Peter Burchard, who announced last month he is leaving to become the city manager of Naperville. His last day is Friday.

Guckenberger will begin her new role Monday. She will remain the acting manager until a permanent replacement is found. The village recently retained The Par Group, of Lake Bluff, to conduct a nationwide search for the best candidates.

Guckenberger said her immediate goal will be to assist staff with matters affecting the village.
