On Thursday, Scott Knaack stood before a judge in the Rolling Meadows branch of Cook County Circuit Court to face new charges of cruel treatment of animals.
Knaack, 43, is alleged to have killed two raccoons on Aug. 10 by beating them to death with a pole.
He is already facing charges for a similar incident on Aug. 22. His lawyer, Alfred Stavros, said his client was only trying to protect his dog from an attack. He also questioned the new charges.
