An auditor gave Romeoville’s finances a good rating at a recent workshop session.

The village has $71 million in assets, and equity has increased by $5 million since last year, reported Robert Thoma, an auditor from McGladrey and Pullen, the firm conducting the town’s annual audit.

Romeoville’s financial records show a pattern of improvement, Thoma said.

“What’s important is the trend. Anyone can have a good year,” he said last week. “You’ve had three” in a row.

Growth is expected to continue, Village Manager James Smithberg said, adding, “The Weber Road corridor is a very viable corridor (for growth), as is the Taylor Road corridor.”
