Oak Forest City Administrator Peter Strutynski was given another reprieve when the City Council agreed he should continue as a city employee through the fiscal year, which ends April 30.

Mayor Patrick Gordon’s nomination in May of Strutynski failed in the council. A short time later, the mayor persuaded Ald. Richard Simon to change his vote, and Strutynski received the first of two, 60-day interim appointments.

With the second term set to expire, Gordon persuaded the aldermen that Oak Forest needed a full-time administrator and that, for now, Strutynski should stay in that post.
