So you hesitated (or just didn’t feel like changing your long-distance carrier) and missed getting tickets for the Rolling Stones. What can you still do to get some satisfaction?
These ideas may be no substitute for cramming into Soldier Field with a few tens of thousands of other screaming fans, but they may help.
– Rent “Gimme Shelter” or a bootleg copy of the never-released Stones concert film allegedly called “–suckers Blues.”
– Hang out near Soldier Field and try to catch an earful of the sounds.
– Take out your tennis rackets, flashlights and Stones records and put on a fake concert with friends in your room.
– Find some really crowded place where you are surrounded by tall people and listen to a Stones tape on a Walkman with bad headphones.
– Go see Ronnie Wood’s multi-colored screen print portraits of the Rolling Stones (see above) and other rock icons, which open Friday at the Solomon & Solomon Gallery 7 E. Oak St.
– Stay home with the rest of the nerds and check out these neat Rolling Stones Web sites:
