The developer of a massive and controversial condominium complex in Arlington Heights delivered roughly 30,000 glitzy brochures to all village residents this week with details of the project.

“We just wanted to get our side of the story out,” said Chuck FioRito, vice president of Joseph Freed and Associates Inc. of Wheeling. `There’s been a lot that has been published about the opponents and we wanted to see our side put out as well.”

Village officials have given preliminary approval, and the developer plans to begin construction next month.

In the meantime, an opposition group called the Shadow Project is proceeding with a lawsuit against the village that they hope could put a stop to construction.
