After having commuted from her home in Florida for nearly a year, Barbara Graham is leaving her post as director of U.S. Rep. Harris Fawell’s (R-Ill.) district office in Clarendon Hills.
Jane Motl of Downers Grove, who has worked for the Naperville lawmaker for 13 years, takes over as director Monday. Graham will remain on staff until Oct. 7.
Graham has traveled back and forth since her husband accepted a medical position last year in Jacksonville, Fla.
Graham, who has worked for the seven-term congressman since 1990, said she has not yet sought another job and is unsure whether she will continue to work in politics.
“This has been a real privilege to work for (Fawell) for these years,” Graham said.
Fawell has announced he will retire from Congress when his current term expires in 1999.
