The Lincoln-Way High School District 210 Advisory Committee will present its final report on expansion during the Sept. 25 school board meeting, according to an administrator.
Lincoln-Way East High School Principal Michael Gardner said the District 210 Advisory Committee will add the results of the series of recent community meetings to the rest of the expansion information gathered over the past year.
With enrollment growing yearly, the school district is facing the need to expand, either by adding on to the two existing high schools in New Lenox and Frankfort or by building a third high school in the northeast corner of the district in Tinley Park.
The two existing buildings have a combined capacity of 5,000 students, and enrollment is more than 4,300.
The school board is expected to vote on the issue in October.
Supt. Lawrence Wyllie said the meetings were productive, generating “great questions and good ideas” from residents.
