Here’s what frustration looks like: It is Dan Marino, defeated, sitting in front of his locker Sunday, shoulders slumped, body and ego covered in bruises. It is Marino staring straight ahead after this loss, emptiness in his eyes, angrily clenching his teeth so hard that his face creases. It is the season being three games old and Marino having the same number of touchdown passes as Jim Druckenmiller, Steve Beuerlein and Jim Everett. Here’s what desperation looks like: It is a fake field goal and a fake punt. It is going for it on fourth and 10 in the first quarter. It is Miami coach Jimmy Johnson doing everything except grabbing a megaphone and shouting to his players, “You guys aren’t good enough, so I’m going to try to beat Green Bay with all this nonsense.”
