John Grosse, a teacher at Paine Elementary School in Lake Zurich, was among 25 teachers nationwide to attend a recent National Aeronautics and Space Administration workshop.
Grosse and the other teachers were selected by a national panel on the basis of their backgrounds and interest in science, math and technology. The teachers also wrote essays and provided reference letters.
The NASA Educational Workshops for Elementary School Teachers attended by Grosse and the others have provided ideas and materials to elementary school teachers for the last 14 years.
