The DuPage County Board has ordered a delay in plans to build a sidewalk along the north side of 31st Street in unincorporated DuPage near Oak Brook.
In response to complaints from residents, board members say they want more information about possible alternatives before proceeding with work on the sidewalk, which would run between Fairfield Avenue and Meyers Road.
Residents of nearby subdivisions told board members this week that they strongly oppose the proposed sidewalk. They say it is not needed and would damage landscaping that shields their homes from 31st Street.
