An on-line computer network at the New Lenox Public Library is giving patrons a new way to look up information.
Four personal computers are tied into the local area network and can pull information from 10 databases on a wide range of subjects, said library director Jo Ann Potenziani.
The lure of quick information appears to be conquering any latent computer phobias.
“People are using it quite a bit,” Potenziani said.
Available services include the AutoNet Reference Center, which provides consumer information for car buyers; Info-Trac, an index of periodicals useful for researchers; and Health Reference Center, a collection of medical information, she said.
In addition, the library has expanded its hours.
