Antioch Community High School will hold an open forum this month for area residents and educators.
The forum will allow educators to discuss planned improvements at local schools and provide the public an opportunity for input, school officials said.
Daniel Burke, superintendent of Antioch Elementary District 34, suggested the forum.
“During the 1990s, we have witnessed an explosion in technology, information and communication. Change has become the norm,” Burke said. “As the needs of society change the schools, too, must change.”
Jamie Volmer, president of the Iowa-based Local Control Project, which works for local control of schools, will appear at the forum.

Volmer will discuss his theories about the importance of community involvement in the future of local schools.
The forum will be at 7:30 p.m. Sept. 29 in the auditorium of Antioch Community High School. Educators from Antioch High School and its feeder districts will be present.
