DuPage Airport officials have proposed hiring a former executive director of the Aurora Economic Development Commission to boost its efforts to market and lease vacant land at the West Chicago airfield.
Barbara Kattermann, president of the Kattermann-Sheridan Group, an Aurora consulting firm, would be paid about $50,000 a year under an agreement that won preliminary approval Wednesday from the airport board’s Finance Committee. The agreement is expected to go before the full board Monday.
Gordon Cole, airport director, said Kattermann and her firm would help develop a marketing plan for the roughly 1,000 acres of airport property available for lease and begin talking to real estate interests.
Kattermann also serves as West Chicago’s director of economic development.
