A 21-year-old Villa Park man was being held by Lombard police Monday on charges arising from the hit-and-run death of a 70-year-old Maywood cyclist last month.

Guillermo E. Arroyo-Gonzalez of 444 W. Division St. was arrested Sunday and charged with leaving the scene of a motor vehicle accident resulting in death, Lombard police said.

Police also confiscated a 1986 Ford pickup truck parked in behind the apartment building where Arroyo-Gonzalez lived.

He was charged in the Aug. 23 death of Joseph Pytel of Maywood, who was struck and killed along Illinois Highway 64 between Main and Streets in Lombard. Pytel was heading home from work at the U.S. Postal Service facility in Carol Stream. He had ridden the 15 miles between home and work every day for three years.
