Like manna from heaven: Oak Forest Police Chief John Koch was pleasantly surprised when a donation of $250 for the city’s Drug Abuse Resistance Education (DARE) program arrived from William Wojciechowski.
“We get very few donations,” the chief said. “Most of our money comes from federal and state grants, and a big chunk is from the city.”

Beecher resident Wojciechowski operates Appliance Disposal Services in Oak Forest. He wanted to give something back to the city as a “no gain, no loss. It’s just a gift from our hearts.”
Wojciechowski picked Oak Forest’s 8-year-old DARE program “because I think it’s a very good cause. My own kids have gone through DARE training.”
