David H. Quinley, whose last known address was 509 Lacy Ct., Streamwood, was charged with possession of stolen property and criminal damage to a motor vehicle after police said he broke into the victim’s 1997 Pontiac Grand Am while it was parked in the 900 block of Yosemite Trail between midnight and 3 a.m. Tuesday and stole stereo equipment. Investigators said Quinley then called the victim late Tuesday afternoon and told her he had heard about the burglary and offered to get the equipment back for her.
The victim told police, and investigators were waiting for Quinley when he arrived at the victim’s workplace in Schaumburg. Quinley saw the officers and fled on foot. Police chased Quinley for about a mile before arresting him, officials said.
Police learned Quinley was wanted on a $15,000 deceptive practice warrant from Bridgeview and a $25,000 burglary warrant from the Columbia County sheriff’s office in Wisconsin. He also was charged as a fugitive from justice. Quinley was taken to Cook County Jail to await an extradition hearing.
