“Living Single,” a sitcom popular with African-Americans, wasn’t supposed to be part of Fox Network’s fall schedule kickoff, though it was slated for later in the season. But another show’s loss is “Living’s” gain and the sitcom will now have its fifth-season premiere on Sept. 11.

“Rewind,” a series starring Scott Baio as a guy who flashes back to the 1970s when faced with a parallel problem in the ’90s, was to kick off Thursday nights for Fox (WFLD-Ch. 32) but has run into creative problems and will be held until midseason, according to Peter Roth, president of Fox Entertainment Group.

Although Nielsen ratings for “Living Single” are low by network standards, the comedy about four women living in New York City, starring Queen Latifah, Kim Coles, Kim Fields Freeman and Erika Alexander, is tops among black households.

– Mystro Clark, Baio’s co-star on “Rewind,” was named host of “Soul Train,” the long-running R&B syndicated dance show airing Saturdays at 11 a.m. on WGN-Ch. 9.
